So I just had an aha moment. Not one where I was struck with a brilliant idea – or momentum to finish a really really long to do list…that would be asking a lot. But I was reading ParentDish this morning and this post came up. I’m going to be really honest. I don’t read this persons stuff on ParentDish I prefer Linda & Kristen because they give things a “real world” look and not something that’s so polished and phony (sorry, that’s really the only word that fit) it belongs on msn in the news section. But really, this writer and then that guy…I don’t remember his name are the only two I don’t read.
But it came up in the reader and I was reading it and looking at the picture and I kept on thinking I know this person….so of course the first thing I think is we went to high school together…then I go to college…then I think maybe we rode the train together into the city…or she was a frequenter of a restaurant i worked on and then it hits me. Dude, this person was on the Real World…with PUCK and she rolled her r’s when she said Pedro’s name.
Incidentally, this revelation will not change the fact that I skim over her posts. This may be strange, and maybe I’m the only one that feels this way, but when I read the Wall Street Journal I expect very finished, PC, journalistic writing. When I read blogs that’s the last thing I want. I want some words all in caps, I want to feel what you’ve got to say, I want you to have an opinion – one that I may not always agree with, but mostly I want it to feel really authentic and not like it went through the corporate feeling remover machine. Am I alone?

I canNOT take her seriously either. She’s a tool.
I was wondering why her lame picture looked so familiar.
And I totally skim her, too.
IMO she’s still looking for her 15 minutes of fame.
And yes, I need to feel like I know the writer when I read blogs. Anything superficial just makes me skip over. I write how I talk and there’s just no acting there.
celebritybabyblog.com…seriously? i think we need to redefine “celebrity” then…that’s the only part of the post i retained after skimming…BORING!
