I have always been a Thursday lover – ALWAYS. It’s just the best damn day. It’s all of the excitement for the weekend with none of the weekend regret. Tomorrow is Friday and I still remember the days when Thursday night TV rocked my world. Ahhh remember the good ole days.
I’ve captured a few things that have me about ready to flip out in excitement.
- 90210 is COMING BACK TO TV. I loved this show. I remember crying when Dylan’s wife was killed and her little kitty cat curled up into her wedding dress and we watched Dylan sob. I remember when Donna planned to lose her virginity. I remember Brenda living the French high life while Dylan made out with Kelly at the beach club. When Andrea got pregnant and she thought it was HIV. When Steve married whatshername and they had that sweet baby girl. David as a DJ. And Dylan owning the Peach Pitt After Dark. I know this makes me a serious dork but COME ON – if you can’t get excited about a little Pitch Pitt getting back in the mix then you simply can’t count yourself as part of the 90’s.
- TV Guide.com put out the Biggest Loser makeover shots. I’m a sucker for a good makeover.
- Swistle had a great topic about buying children’s cloths in advance. And I asked her this question – but really all of you could likely help me. How far in advance does one buy? I need some structure here because I could really go nuts.
- My Amazon book sale has profited enough to buy the external flash I want to buy for my camera….however now I need to find out Which flash to buy. Hmmm.

how does an amazon book sale work?
oh, and i love thursday too!
Hey, I was and still am a HUGE 90210 fan! They show reruns on Soap Network. Okay, did I just admit that out loud? Dang it!
I buy in advance for Reyna, but usually just for the upcoming season. LIke, I already have a ton of stuff for summer. I don’t like to buy too far in advance because I don’t really know what size she will be. She might hit a growth spurt or stay really tiny. Who knows.
I may not be the best example, but if the sale is good, I buy 1-2 years ahead. You wait till the end of season, and then stock up for the next year, if you have a general idea of your kids’ size. So, right now, Charlotte is only in 24 months but has spring clothes in 3T. And I’m about to bust out the spring clothes I bought last year for her now. It’s great to always have clothes on hand.
come to NJ, I’ll show you where the sales are!
I try to gauge what size Morgan will be a year or so in advance. Typically, when a kid is 2, they’re usually in 24 months or 2T size. But, this isn’t always true.
At the end of last summer, I bought Morgan’s spring/summer clothes for this year in a 2 and 3T. As of now, the 2T bottoms will fit her great (which is what I bought) and the 3T tops will be perfect (she has a baby belly
). AndreAnna’s right: if the sale is good, buy 1-2 years in advance. When all of the winter clothes went on sale recently, I started buying for NEXT fall/winter. I scored some awesome deals at the Carter’s outlet and at Old Navy
With the buying clothes in advance, the game changes at the one year mark. If you’re pre-buying clothes, for the love of money, stay away from “newborn” size. It only fits up to 7 pounds, meaning your baby may never wear it (mine didn’t). It’s not a joke that they grow really fast either, so I wouldn’t go too heavy on 0-3 months until you know what you’re dealing with. Alexis wore 0-3 months for about five weeks. Since then, she’s always worn a size bigger than her age. Others wear 0-3 months for six months, so you kind of have to wait and see with some of the younger stuff. (The good news is that since stores put clothes out way before they are really in season, the clearance racks are always full of “current” clothes. I’m buying Spring stuff on clearance now.)
Once we got past a year, I got braver with my clearance shopping. I check her current size and up to two sizes bigger. If something is a really great deal (like the Gap jeans I bought her a year ago for $6 that she is just now wearing), I’ll take a chance on it, even if it is two sizes too big.
