So I’ve made another dish from the deceptively delish cookbook. It’s the Blueberry Oatmeal bar with Spinach. I don’t love Blueberry cooked….I love them raw but cooked, ehhh I could take it or leave it. So I used Raspberry. I also used Baking Splenda in place of the sugar. They are Fantastic! Yummy and full of spinach and you can NOT even taste it. Not even a little.
This is a sure sign that it’s a slow news day.
On to my gripe of the day. I went to a local butcher this afternoon because I wanted some chicken breasts to cook tonight and the grocery store is so nasty on Sunday’s and the whole fresh thing is not present on Sunday at the closest grocery store. I went in- checked out the different marinated items, seasoned items, marinated items and because none of that was doing the trick I went for the chicken breasts….the guy behind the counter said they are half price would you like more? I said sure give me 6 instead of the 4 then. So I’m walking around looking at the cookies and thinking why are they half price? Are they bad? Do they have an expiration date of last Friday? Why? So he handed me the package and I said “why were the chicken breasts half price” and he laughs really really loud and hard with all of his butcher friends behind the counter…and he said “they aren’t half price they are half breasts” to which I said “o” I walked out with 6 full price chicken breasts. I will never go there again. Here’s a lesson that we learn when we go to Stew’s the customer is ALWAYS right.
The FH has requested a weekly blog dedicated to all things FH. So here we go FH here is a weekly update on you.
- He is using a Nivea after shave balm and he smells like a real “man” you know – manly. He’s never worn fragrance and everything about him has always been smell free. Now when he gets out of the shower he puts on this balm. And I have to tell you – it’s hot. If your husband is not a fragrance wearer and you want to have that “I live with a real man” feeling once a day buy this balm it’s under $5.00 at Target.
- He went to Stew Leonards with me yesterday and is now a fan of the Stew’s. In front of the big freezer case with the singing milk and ice cream and they sing the customer is always right song there was a little kid in a shopping cart smiling a 3 tooth grin while swaying to the song. At that point he was sold. Stew’s was the Disney of grocery stores.
- He has not had a freakout in over three weeks. This is seriously noteworthy.
- He’s decided that his Fall/Winter Casual attire options are sub-par. His summer spring line is three deep in every polo ever made and his athletic line is well established and his professional attire is also well stocked but the fall/winter category is just not well represented. What does a man where casually in the fall winter? Button downs? Flannels? Thermals? We need a little direction here.
- He is loving the new flannel sheets from the Company Store – it’s like sleeping in a cozy little sweater nest – warm, cozy and light. He’s so comfortable in these new sheets that he decided to give me a player evaluation including a Q&A session with me – while still SOUND a sleep. He also coaches in his sleep.
